“Faith and Wonder”

“‘Faith and Wonder’ is a song that my husband Jacob (Sooter) and I wrote with our friends Abbie (Simmons) and Cody (Lee) from Upper Room, in Dallas, and our friend Bethany (Wohrle) from Bethel out in California. And it’s a very simple song really, just wanting to declare the praise of Jesus, and understanding, that there is power…there’s still power in the name of Jesus. There’s still power to heal, there’s still power to save, there’s still power to deliver, and that’s what God does. Whenever we sing out those things and we declare those things with our mouths and believe that God is still a miracle working God, that He’s still on his throne. Whenever that happens it stirs up our faith, and increases our wonder, and we’re left in this state of awe, and gratitude of just eyes lifted to heaven on Jesus just saying ‘Thank you God, that you are all these things and so much more’ and there is so much power in just declaring the power that is in the name of Jesus. So, I pray that you are encouraged as you listen today, that your eyes are lifted to Heaven, that your faith is stirred and that as we just continue to set our eyes on Jesus, that we will always walk by faith and not by sight.”

“2020 has been a year that maybe none of us expected. Many have called it unprecedented and uncertain…and while the world tends to go towards fear and worry, we as believers have the opportunity to choose faith over fear, and wonder over worry. That we can walk but faith and not by sight because the word of God is true, and God is for us, and with us no matter where we go, no matter what we walk through, no matter what is coming our way…in all of the chaos, all of the uncertainty, we can trust that God is working all things together for our good and His glory. So, even as you listen to this song, ‘Faith and Wonder,’ my prayer is that your eyes will be lifted to Heaven, above your circumstances, above all this craziness, and your eyes would be fixed on Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, the one who’s name is more powerful than any other name, and you can rest on the fact that He is still on His throne and he has your best interests at heart. He loves you so much! So, this is an invitation to walk by faith and not by sight. “
