LUKE: “A little while back we were writing a song, and I actually couldn’t be in the writing session…I was at my house. So, we were writing via Facetime, and Skype, and I decided that I was going to take my oldest two boys to get dinner, and I was going to put them in the car and if I ever needed to, I’d mute the phone. Well, the boys in the back
JOEL: “He’s a multi-tasker”
LUKE: “Yeah, that’s right. Well, the boys in the back, and they were kind of bickering, and I thought I had my phone on mute…and I looked at them and said ‘Guys, quit bickering, you guys are brothers, you’re in this together.’ When I said that, realizing I wasn’t on mute, somebody else that we were writing the song with said there’s something about being in this together like brothers, like sisters that has so much weight. And so this song ‘TOGETHER’ is a song that has taken quite the journey.”
JOEL: “It has”
LUKE: “But we couldn’t be more proud of the message of togetherness in such a time as this.”
JOEL: “This virus has been the great equalizer of humanity, and it’s not playing favorites, and this is the time for us to come together…cheer each other on, love our neighbor well, and collaborate.”
